Shellporter icon

Shellporter

Open a terminal in your IDE's project directory — one hotkey, any IDE.

macOS 14+

How it works

1

Focus your IDE

Work in JetBrains, VS Code, Cursor, Xcode, or Antigravity.

2

Press the hotkey

^⌥⌘T to open a terminal at the active project root.

3

You're there

Your terminal opens, already cd'd into the right directory.

Features

5+ IDEs supported

JetBrains (IntelliJ, Android Studio, Fleet, …), VS Code, Cursor, Xcode, and Antigravity. Resolved via accessibility APIs and window metadata.

Terminal-aware launches

Terminal.app, iTerm2, Ghostty, Kitty, and custom commands. Shellporter shows installed terminal apps, reuses existing iTerm2 sessions, and supports dedicated iTerm2 or Ghostty windows.

Global hotkeys

^⌥⌘T to open the terminal, ^⌥⌘C to copy a cd command. Works from any app.

Menu bar only

Lives in your menu bar. No Dock icon, no window clutter. Just click or press the hotkey.

Smart project detection

Automatically figures out which project is open in your IDE. Remembers recent projects so repeat launches are instant.

Privacy-first

Fully local. No network calls, no telemetry, no analytics. Your project paths stay on your machine.
